I'm an
Individual
Writing is my greatest gift and it has been a lifelong passion for me. When I write something, for whatever purpose, I devote all of my energy to it and work hard to produce something I deem of excellent quality. As a student I thrived on every opportunity to exercise my creative writing craft. Since the time I was in the second grade through college, I received much positive recognition, many accolades and official honors for both my academic prose and creative writing skills. As a college student I was consistently praised by professors for my writing ability and encouraged to pursue writing as a professional. I have written a collection of short stories and poetry in addition to blogging and contributing an extensive output of essay-style prose writing to the question-and-answer social network Quora...... Recently I put together a website to promote my writing (upsidedowndreaming.....). It is still in a preliminary stage of development, but it features a broad sample of my creative writing. I have spent the past seven years working as an English teacher, teaching both English as a second language in Moscow, Russia and English Language Arts in public high schools in northern California. I earned a preliminary single-subject credential from Azusa Pacific University in 2010 and I am qualified to teach English, French, and Government. I dedicated a large portion of my teaching experience to helping students develop their writing skills and constructing well-organized essays of all different kinds in cogent and concise prose. I have spent the last three years working in a public high school in northern California where I had a very demanding schedule of teaching four different subjects of English Language Art to six periods of students every day. All three years I taught the Advanced Placement (AP) English class that focused on preparing students for college level writing, analysis of literature, and argumentative rhetoric. This experience certainly helped challenge me in finding the right balance for developing instructional content for multiple subject areas in a daily basis. Prior to that experience I taught English and French at a high school in Santa Cruz County. I would also like to highlight that before teaching in public schools, I worked from 2010-201... teaching English in Moscow, Russia to students of all different age groups and English proficiency levels in both a private school setting and a language center. My extensive work experience as a teacher has given me a lot of opportunity to focus on the rigors of crafting masterful composition for a wide range of contexts and subject matter, as well as appreciating large groups of people from various cultural backgrounds. Prior to my teaching experience I worked as a Data Entry Assistant for a non-profit organization where I practiced my typing skills every day and developed a strong fluency in using Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, as well as Microsoft Access. I know I have the passion, the self-motivation, and the advanced writing skills that would be ideal for any employer seeking a dedicated, excellent writer with a love for language and creativity.
