For 25 years, I worked at Cook Marketing, a full-service agency that specialized in broadcast commercials. I won national recognition for the firm through a campaign I created for The Partnership for a Drug-Free America. When Cook closed in 2001, I opened my freelance copywriter/creative consultant business. Freelancing at Citi Cards N-House department gave me a chance to work on direct mail for a national brand. Samples of my ads were put on their intranet website to demonstrate the department's quality work. One piece had the phone ringing off the hook. I was also a contract copywriter at Morgan & Partners, where I worked on high-end real estate development brochures. Two of them won Gold at the North Florida Addy Awards. One of the brochures also won Judge's Best recognition. Another career highpoint came while freelancing at St. John & Partners. I created a "guerrilla-advertising" piece for Clearwire that won Judge's Best recognition at North Florida ADDYs. It was also a New York Festivals Finalist Award in 2004.
