Writer in Houston, Texas

I have 15 years of experiences as a fine artist working between the spaces of fine arts/literary arts and 5 years as an art instructor/professor/mentor. I am most experienced with poetry with a focus on hybridity and painting, printmaking, installation. I also mediate between photography, video, storytelling, personal narrative, and spoken word. I am seeking more opportunities to combine my passions of visual and literary arts with the intent to voice issues within the experience of an African American woman into pods of hybrid expression. My own work serves an a medium not only to “protect black women” but also to connect black women to a place of greater understanding and acknowledged presence in the broader global economic world.
