My name is Woodi Bruce and I'm a professional ventriloquist that is looking for free-lance comedy writers to help punch up my act. I'm looking for content , style, and contemporary humor. More specifically, I am looking for dialogue writing and a person that can edit as well. My characters are an egotistical drag queen, named Wanda Layme, She's brash, bawdy, a drinker, a smoker, gossipy and thinks she's better than everyone, especially RuPaul. I have a Mexican Cockroach, named Rodriquez Roach, Rodriquez is shy, is afraid of bright lights, into smoking pot, hates humans, and can't wait for World War III, because he and his clan can then inherit the earth. This is dialogue writing, which means, me the ventriloquist is a personality too. My character is the one that tries to keep the peace when one of my character gets out of hand. And when one of my characters insults me, I do a "Jack Benny" take, as if to say to the audience, "I don't believe he just said that." I prefer clean to suggestive style of comedy. Blue humor is fine for some comedians, but for me, I think people overall prefer a cleaner act.
