Hi guys, My name is Taylor Valery, but please call me Tay. I'm a creative writer: poetry, lyrics, short fiction, and personal essays are my thing. The purpose of this profile to (eventually) help myself from the monotony of reviewing Facebook ads on 6th and Congress from 9-5, and into the career I've believed I'd have since I was a child. In 2011, a freshman in college, I self-published my first collection of poems and from that point I knew I would actually be a professional writer. I wrote an article for United Methodist Church News Service years back, for Juneteenth recognition, and I helped create the first e-newsletters at my alma mater. I love to write, I love to create, I love to help. To keep myself creative, I blog and write poetry non-stop. I have, literally, so many poems in my "Notes" app. Both my iPhone and iPad are my writer spirals. I used to write blog-type posts on LinkedIn and WordPress until I figured out that those content management systems weren't where my audience was. I now post most of my content of BuzzFeed Community, and I provide a PDF link to content that I want to share with my readers. I want a larger following, ultimately, because I am great. In time, more people will know, which is why I am seeking writing gigs to help expand and expose me. Too, the exposure can certainly humble and grow me, and I always appreciate a life-lesson to bring back to my readers. Again, this is a general post that seeks writing gigs, preferably freelance, as I work 9-5 to stay alive.
