Hello, My name is John Koval. I have been a Houstonian for over twenty years. I grew up in California and received my high school diploma in 1986, I moved to Louisiana shortly after graduation and attended the University of Louisiana in Lafayette. Initially I started by pursuing a degree in Business Management. I thought with a solid foundation in skills associated with the business world it would free me up to opportunities related to multiple career fields. After two years of attendance, I felt like I needed a challenge early on in my life, so I served in the military. While serving my country, I wrote to family and friends. Do partially to boredom, which does occur in a military career, I found a passion for extending my many adventures to anyone who would read my material. Realizing I would not be making the army my career of choice, I went back to school at North Harris Community College in Tomball. Though it had already been close to two years, since I was in school, I found that Journalism was my new direction. I wrote for the school newspaper, mainly basing my articles on articles that would appeal to my fellow students. Mostly common interests stories, ranging from current events involving the campus to critic reviews on local bands. I am currently working on a book of my own on my life experiences. I've had numerous jobs that have not required a college degree ( which there are many.) Most of them related to the service industry, but some had a little more intensity. For future reference, if you ever considered working as a correctional officer, it is nothing like what you see in the movies. I would like to end this brief introduction about myself on a positive note by saying that life is full of twist and turns, but from every experience you gain a little knowledge.
