As a STEM/Science Curriculum Writer, I developed annual STEM/science teacher pacing guides for the largest district in West TN. These guides serve as the teacher’s outline for units taught within their diverse subject areas and are aligned with CCSS and NGSS practices. I also developed evaluator ‘look for’ documents to be utilized in teacher evaluation systems. As a Project Lead The Way Trainer, I have developed training for teachers in PLTW curriculum sets. As well as impacted and advocated for changes needed to improve student STEM exposure in every grade 6-12 to improve student outcomes in STEM career and educational pathways. As a STEM PLC Lead Teacher, I worked alongside district leaders and fellow teachers to communicate professional development, curriculum guides, and material needs for science and STEM middle school courses. As well as, prepared large-scale presentations for stakeholders that showcase the impact STEM has on students and the community. As a STEM Project Leader for the Shelby Scholars Summer Institute, I designed STEM curriculum focusing on real world problems/applications within the realm of natural disasters. I also taught Lego Mindstorms NXT Software Curriculum and monitored teachers’ performance and duties within the project group. I chaired meetings and held ordering responsibilities for the entire program.
