We have written some software to help produce professional-grade resumes and cover letters. We are software developers, not writers, so in order to decide if this project should move forward, we are looking for resume writers or anyone doing same for their own career advancement. The software called STAR, is designed to "speak to" ATS processors. (Applicant Tracking System) STAR has ATS within its name. STAR=System for Tracking Applicants in Reverse. The premise To get the job, one must first get the interview. To get the interview, one must submit electronic documents that closely match employer requirements. To do this, one must be aware that the ATS Processor (not a human) is the target audience. If the ATS is not impressed, the resume will never see the inside of a human's inbox. What We Are Seeking We need input in the form of feedback as it pertains to function and performance. We have used STAR to build a handful of real resumes but it has been developers punching the keys. To obtain quality feedback, I need to find a few resume writers who would like to try what might become a standard in the resume preparation business. To convert a standard resume to the STAR format takes about one hour. However what I am offering, in exchange for your testing and feedback: I will give you a copy of the code and help you install/configure it. It's Linux-based, so any domain that runs WordPress or Joomla is all you need. If however you don't have a web server on which to do this, I will create an instance for you on our server.
