I love to inform an audience in an interesting way, translating science into plain English, figuring what each reader wants to know and making the piece fit their needs. My experience includes esoteric topics – the chemical industry and its health implications, petroleum production and products, human interest and mostly all aspects of agriculture from environment and soil to machinery and markets. I am a proficient researcher and writer and an excellent editor, including scientific editing. My experience includes successful substantive and copy editing of over 100 scientific papers and other work for peer reviewed publications in many disciplines (close to 100% accepted). Also edited theses in agriculture and public health. My post-graduate work was in physiology and I worked for 6 years in medical research. More recently I have volunteered in Alberta Health Services in emergency dept and Health advisory council. I can contribute to a research project at any stage from literature review to preparation of articles, podcasts, interviews etc for lay audiences or professionals.
