Writer in Brooklyn, New York

When I was in high school my pastimes included writing poetry on a typewriter, reading used Kurt Vonnegut paperbacks, and exploring abandoned places. I begged my parents not to make me go to college – I wanted to be a flight attendant and possibly run away to live in Brazil. But Papa Kev (my dad) made me go and I’m glad I did. Here, I not only fell in love with the weird and quirky city of Baltimore, and got the opportunity to spend 5 months living in Bangkok, but I also rediscovered my passion for writing through new forms I hadn’t tried before. I started writing anywhere I could, including NOMADS Magazine, The Fire Island Chronicle, 2-Mag, NY Daily News, and a few others. I even tried my hand at audio work as well. Now I’m back home in New York, taking on the world one word at a time. I'm interested in writing profiles, long form journalism, human interest stories, ghostwriting, travel writing, and anything else that allows me to get in depth with an interesting, stimulating story. I'd also love to get back into some audio work, if time and life allows. I enjoy road trips, talking to strangers, and volunteering at my local historical society. And, of course, writing.
