My direct client, in the aviation industry has an immediate need for a Technical Editor. Duration: 1 Month contract Location: Miramar, FL Salary/Rate: DOE Start Date: ASAP Responsibilities: Ensure the development of a current and accurate Manual Set by adhering to the Technical Publications Revision Process Guidelines and Quality Assurance Checks. Provide accurate information in company manuals and technical documents by ensuring correct content and format for with correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar. The timely incorporation of Document Management Request (DMRs) as submitted by SMEs through OTRS to support revision cycle milestones and deadlines. Updating OTRS and closing requests accordingly. Maintain document and revision compliance as mandated by FAA. Investigate and resolve problem areas through self-discovery and by interfacing with various engineering, operations, and maintenance personnel. Duties also include supporting the efforts of Subject Matter Experts to complete projects in accordance with established deadlines with strict adherence to quality standards. Responsible for the organized document and content management of files within the server architecture. Functional Competencies Skilled in documentation editing, formatting and creation in FrameMaker. Demonstrated capability to communicate verbally and in writing. Expertise in document modifying software, particularly Adobe-based. Proven knowledge of document design, layout and development. Demonstrated English grammar, syntax, mechanics and punctuation skills. Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to new and emerging technologies. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours and travel may be required. Requirements Bachelor's degree in English, or other Technical Communications discipline and four or more years of progressive experience in Aviation or other Technical Communications discipline. FrameMaker Trained and Certified. Master's degree in English, or other Technical Communications discipline and six or more years of progressive experience in Aviation or other Technical Communications discipline.
