Writer in Boulder, Colorado

While I am currently pursuing my Masters in English Literature at the University of Colorado, I have worked for the past four years as a journalist in Mid-Missouri, first as a sports reporter from 2013 to 2015 and later as a statehouse and political reporter from 2015 to the summer of 2017. In the latter role, I covered elections from governor all the way down to the smallest state representative races. I also wrote on topics including legislative efforts on tort reform, Planned Parenthood, labor law changes and profiles on various legislators, staffers, lobbyists and other people of interest in and around the Missouri Capitol. I graduated from the University of Missouri with a Bachelors of Journalism in 2013, with an emphasis on Convergence Reporting, which gave me experience not just in traditional print and digital news, but also in photography, videography, along with some web design and audio editing. That said, my journalistic passion lies in interviewing and writing about subjects who have work to enrich either their own lives or the lives of others, in whatever form that takes.
