I’m a passionate little soul and I have a million things I want to achieve in this thing called life. After earning my Bachelors Degree in Behavioral Science and working for numerous nonprofits, I founded my own non-profit organization focused on social awareness of rape culture and empowerment for survivors of sexual assault. I’m a strong advocate for mental health, as I myself have a diagnosis depression and anxiety. I believe that mental health should be treated the same as physical health, despite its outward invisibility. I often write and speak openly about my own experiences with mental health in an effort to normalize it within our society. I love coffee mugs, Rolling Stone magazine, and Ira Glass. I’m a fan of vinyl records, interesting people, and the Oxford comma. The Hobbit is my favorite book; I read it multiple times a year. I hope to one day live out the plot to my favorite film, Almost Famous. I love travel and adventure. In 2015, on a whim and a prayer, I moved to County Cork, Ireland and spent the next year and a half traveling Europe. It was the toughest yet most rewarding thing I’ve ever done and I highly recommend it to anyone and everyone. As a writer I have been published by Hello Giggles, Community Orange Magazine, Provo Buzz, UVU Review, Bystander Magazine, Reach Provo, Fight The New Drug and more. I was also once quoted in an article at Baylor University which was a happy surprise. My social activism has been covered by BYU Universe, Deseret News, Deseret News National, Provo Buzz, and City Weekly. A native of Utah and Idaho, I love nature especially mountains and national parks. I believe in the power of sunsets, yoga, and meditation. I’m currently living in Oregon with my husband Michael and our furbaby Ringo Starr, trudging through life and trying to figure it all out.
