Writer in Eugene, Oregon

I am a recent graduate of the University of Alaska Anchorage with a Bachelors of Arts in English Rhetoric and a minor in Creative Writing. In 2007, I participated in a round-robin style story telling event on a now defunct social media website. This would be the first step to push me toward pursuing writing professionally. I wrote her first novel in spring, 2009 and soon began to participate in NaNoWriMo on a yearly basis, first completing a novel in a month in 2014, then again in 2015. I was featured in Understory, an annual anthology produced by the Department of English at the University of Alaska Anchorage twice in 2014 and three times in 2016. During the 2015/201... academic year, I also assisted Understory as a managing and content editor. The following year, I served as an intern for the Department of English at UAA in redeveloping Understory's print and digital editions. At the moment, I also serves as the head writer for a small website, yaydigis...... My primary focus is in fiction, especially in fantasy, however I have significant experience in science-fiction, horror, and literary fiction as well as poetry. I grew up in the Land of the Midnight Sun, using the deep and intense winters to dedicate to writing and study. When I'm not stuck at my desk, I enjoy the outdoors, taking my dog on hikes, and going fishing. Indoors, I tend a menagerie of reptiles, fold ridiculously small origami cranes, and post Facebook statuses about writing when I most definitely am not.
