Hello, my name is Elizabeth; my passion is writing. I’m experienced in technical writing, grant writing, poetry, business correspondences, academic articles and research. When wearing the hat of the reader, one must be vigilant in responding. Written documents can be tricky, and sometimes important ideas are overlooked and misleading. The reader must be cognizant of ambiguous wording, vocabulary, indecisive ideas, belittling main topics and omitting key concepts. When responding to written pieces, I have read contradictions, misquotes and falsified statements. These written pieces were responses from major companies. Tricky letters or e-mails such as these, if not dealt with accordingly, can make or break each party’s understanding of common goals. Other works I do occasionally, I describe innovative products and services, utilizing fun and entertaining wording. I always do my best to ensure projects are distinguished and memorable. A few years ago, on a whim, I wrote a letter to President Obama concerning policy that I felt strongly could use some changes. Working class citizens, I felt, were falling through the cracks. The president surprised me by selecting my letter, from thousands of other letters, and personally replied through the mail! He even sent two local representatives to discuss my ideas.The President, who was currently in office at the time, was interested in my thoughts.
