My writing journey includes 10 years of writing a weekly Budget Menu news column for a daily newspaper, plus several years of freelancing food, nutrition, and healthy lifestyle articles. I've published two poetry books containing self-development tips that help people write "tribute poems" . I have also transformed two poems into video poems. I enjoy doing creative writing more than academic writing but I have critiqued hundreds of student essays as a former University instructor. I have written scripts for two short, social issue films. I am skilled in transforming people's ideas into written material for specific themes or markets, such as healthy living, travel, inspiration, or revitalization. I have edited -with positive client appreciation- a spirituality guidebook; and scripts for two screenplays. I also edit essays or articles for sensitivity, context and continuity and help writers insure they achieved their stated purpose. My fees range from $35 to $150 per hour depending upon timeframe, complexity and target market. I am currently located in Nanaimo but do most of my work remotely/ I am currently available to take on a new project having recently completed a 110 episode podcast series. I have a Master of Arts in Liberal Arts; and a BSc in Home Economics with a major in nutrition and a minor in journalism from Wayne State University, Detroit, MI I also have a recent BSc in Digital Cinema and Film Production.
