With a rural Alberta upbringing and having lived, worked and raised a family in Calgary, I am a freelance writer looking to write for Country Living or Agricultural magazines. I love to draw attention to the legacy of the pioneering spirit of specific subjects by connecting their legacy to today's outcomes. My positive, respectful humourous and clever wordplay reveals a poignant portrait of the pioneer for whom the story is told. As a result, the satisfied reader is imbued in an innate knowingness of the subject and their impact on Albertans. I also like to use my sense of humour to write about commonly known subject matter. The weather, for example, as self-evident as it is, presents an ever-present delight or distress to those whose livelihoods depend on it. My measurement of success is in the reader's response whether it be a tear in their eye or a chuckle on their lips.
