Writer in Tucson, Arizona
I'm a content creator with flexible skills including blogging, academic writing, graphic art, comics, podcasting and social media. I have a B.A. in Linguistics, and I have experience with travel journalism and writing reviews/op-eds for a few independent blogs. I have also written and drawn several comics (short stories), and appeared on a few podcasts. I can use streaming services such as Twitch and image editing software such as photoshop.
My best skills are research, analysis, precision, and creativity. When I write, my mission is not just to inform the reader, but to engage them. If I'm writing about something I experienced, I want to take them with me. For me, writing isn't just about informing, it's about telling a story.
My writing interests are broad, ranging from academic writing to scripts for comics. Some topics I'm familiar with include music (specifically metal, punk and hardcore), food, craft beer, LGBT activism and academic research.
With music, I keep track of new artists and underground record labels, and have a particular interest in female-fronted metal bands and LGBT artists.
I also have personal experience in food, lifestyle and craft beer, since I live in Tucson, Arizona, a town which is particularly well known for its great restaurants and unique night life.
As a transgender creator, I spend a lot of time immersed in LGBT and leftist discourse, so I also have plenty of experience writing about and analyzing LGBT issues, activism and politics, and can do so from the perspective of someone who is LGBT themselves.
My experience in art and comics is lifelong. I published a 23-page graphic short story in my sophomore year of high school, and have since written and drawn 4 others, and am currently working on two more.
