Writer in Neenah, Wisconsin

I'm an ex-exec-assistant. No longer by trade, I have found new purpose in life. I am an author, copy editor, piano teacher (contact me if you're a hopeful adult beginner. :)), and aspiring yoga instructor. As an author I have recently debuted in fiction with two stories in online lit rags: "The Fable Online" and "Buck Off Magazine." I also have three more stories pending publishing. I have an active blog (www.....com) where I try to provide a wide range of style and attitude. Depending upon my mood, I may write about my--very serious--convictions on animal rights. Or, I might take a satirical stance on the state of politics in our nation. I might explore my own spirituality, with a moderate degree of irreverence, or just chose a random topic to opine over. For "fun" I like to run. I have completed 19 marathons, one 50K (which was one of the biggest mistake of my running life and I do not recommend it), and 18 half marathons. I have a smattering of age group awards to brag about, but for the most part I am a "slow and steady finishes the race" kind of girl. My husband and I live in Neenah, WI with our four cats (that substitute to approximately one and a quarter children). Mabel, LuLu, Luli (no relation to LuLu), and Jezebel. We do not own a TV, nor understand much of cable, though I do have Netflix and secretly relish those days on which I can binge on a mind numbing crime or zombie apocalypse show. I will not actually come out and say I have ever done that on any show beginning with the letters, "C, S and I," or the words, "The Walking." We listen to a lot of NPR and spend a fair amount of time getting into heated scrabble and cribbage tournaments, debating the time, space continuum, and having arguments over how to pronounce words such as "mischievous." In other words, considering the cats, the lack of TV, NPR and our affinity for cribbage we are essentially 80. Yoga, writing and music are true passions for me that have and always will be present in my life. I rely on both and I believe they wait for me when I take my breaks (as we all do as writers, yogis and musicians).
