Writer in Roberts, Wisconsin

With a unique set of experiences in business, in education, coaching, and as a 28-year veteran of the print industry, I understand the importance of communication, branding, promotion, and accountability. Though my experiences haven’t included the candlestick maker, I have worked for a baker, butcher and in a junk yard while earning money to finish my college degree. In addition to those previous employers, I also managed two motion picture theaters and worked at another in Western Wisconsin while in my early 20s. I tell you about those early experiences, because when coupled with my work as a substitute teacher, as a coach at varying levels, and as a journalist, I have learned that patience, consideration and most of all – the skill of listening – have allowed me to absorb many life lessons that have made me a better employee, manager, and person. For 28 years I led three Wisconsin newspapers to consistent, honest, and hard-hitting stories about the good and the bad of the communities we covered. During that time, I have also been a writer and photographer/videographer and web page editor, focusing on a number of topics. Depending on the day and time, I was charged with writing hard news, features, outdoors, business and even sports stories. These experiences have helped me through the bulk of my career and have prepared me for this newest adventure. Work has been important to me, but I can’t forget to explain how my wife and my children have helped mold me into a professional who understands how life’s occurrences and their ties to our cultural landscape have helped me project, protect and propel through life. Their lessons and involvement, along with my professional experiences, have left me complete and ready for more. That is why is seek employment once again as a communicator.
