Writer in Pasadena, California

Hello: Though I have spent most of my working life helping students improve their ability to write, I also worked as a writer/troubleshooter for an international telephone company. The job required me to manage projects all over the world. I also wrote newsletters for customers, informed representatives of changes in company policies, served on various committees, and coordinated many initiatives. Two of the innovations I championed saved the company over thirty thousand dollars a month. Many of the communications I sent to clients and to staff addressed nuances of phone regulations. I am very good at breaking down complex issues into its components so that the components and the issues may be understood. I like to write, write quickly, work well under pressure, like feedback, get along well with computers, and am very familiar with Word and a variety of other software packages. I am a team player. If it matters, I have an MA in English from the University of Maryland. I have written in a variety of genres. Five screenplays I have written have won six screenplay contests. Three scripts I have written have been optioned. A variety of screenplays and novels I have written are making the rounds. Recently, a short story I wrote won a contest. Short fiction I have written has appeared in literary magazines. Short comic pieces I have written have been published on the internet. Also, I have written and published two books. One is for English teachers. The other is for instructors who teach English to international students. I am aware of the importance of sweating the details, performing tasks in a prompt and professional matter, and working on a problem until an appropriate solution is determined. I am the opposite of a procrastinator. My experience in the U.S. Army will show you that I am tough. I am blessed with a quick wit, a keen eye for detail, and enough stamina for two people.
