WORK HISTORY November 2006 – November 2016 Web Editor, International Financing Review and Top News Editor, IFR Markets and Fixed Income pages, Thomson Reuters, New York. Most recently, I worked as the Web Editor of International Financing Review, a Thomson Reuters publication that provides global capital markets intelligence. International Financing Review magazine is published weekly out of London and Asia. My responsibilities included updating the IFRe..... site on a daily basis with news stories and uploading stories from the magazine to the site once a week. I also edited stories written by staff writers, wrote headlines, selected pictures, charts and multimedia content, and alerted section editors about breaking and important news stories. In addition, I was also the Top News Editor for IFR Markets (International Financing Review's newswire) and the Fixed Income pages on Eikon, a Thomson Reuters investment and trading platform for financial professionals. Prior to this, I worked as the Editor of Deal Insight, a desktop product that was being developed by Thomson Financial for investment bankers and as an Editor for Thomson Financial’s North America newswire team. I also developed two morning newsletters for Thomson Financial’s retail wealth and investment management clients in the U.S. and Canada into revenue generating products. Earlier, I assisted Thomson Financial in setting up news bureaus in India. My duties in India included managing and leading a team of 24 journalists and working with trainers in designing effective training programs. June 2005 - November 2006 Interactive Newsreader, The Wall Street Journal..... I was part of the team that managed the Wall Street Journal’s Web site from 4:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. My duties included copy tasting, editing and writing headlines and summaries. I compiled the North America and Latin America closing market reports and the Asian opening market report and occasionally wrote for the site. I was part of the team that helped launch the online edition of the Weekend Journal and single-handedly manned the Web site on some weekends and national holidays. April 1998 - June 2005 Online Editor, NJBIZ. I was responsible for updating the New Jersey-based business newspaper’s Web site. I also produced the NJBIZ Early Edition and NJBIZdaily, two daily newsletters that focused on business and economic news from around New Jersey. In addition, I also wrote for the newspaper. May 1996 - October 1997 Finance Editor, Business Day, Bangkok, Thailand. I was responsible for producing the newspaper's eight-page "Money and Investing" section and managed a team of 13 reporters from diverse backgrounds. My duties included selecting stories, editing copies, writing headlines and designing pages. I also regularly wrote for the newspaper’s supplements section. April 1987 - February 1993 Chief Copy Editor, Financial Express, India. I was in charge of the editing desk and managed a team of copy editors who were responsible for selecting stories, editing reports and writing headlines. I independently handled day and night shifts and wrote articles on the automobile industry. I was also involved in the launch of The Indian Auto Journal, India’s first consumer-oriented automobile magazine. As the Assistant Editor and later Advertisement Manager, my job involved writing, arranging for photo shoots, pagination and canvassing for advertisements.
