Writer in Washington, District of Columbia

My name is Morgan S. Jones. I am a creative and technical writer from Tennessee with experience in editing as well. My undergraduate degree from Southeast Missouri State University was based in theatre and writing. I took a range of courses from more advanced creative writing to scientific technical writing to analysis and critique of modern political policy. My coursework in each of these was exemplary, but I found both theatrical and political writing the most interesting. I was published several times in the Southern Missouri area. Four of my scripts have been picked up by independent filmmakers and will come to fruition by the end of 2018. Washington D.C. is my new home as I pursue a Master’s degree in Ethics, Peace, and Global Affairs at American University. This degree mixes psychology, policy, and writing together in a frenzied mix that I find fascinating. My interest in screenwriting is pursued simultaneously. I write almost constantly. Most of the time I write well. I’ve found I struggle when writing about mathematical theories, so if that is your need then I’ll truthfully admit I’m not your woman. My editing experience is as expansive as my writing. I’ve edited my own works as well as my peers’. The process I follow is of my own design. I begin with content then move on to grammar and syntax to insure cohesion is there before grappling with composition. I think that you will find my writing and editing skills modern, but with enough classical influence to hold weight even as a young writer.
