I'm an
Individual
With over a decade experience working in the as a professional makeup artist and hair stylist I have come to realize that, if you are lucky enough to find and actually notice that you found your passionate in life, you will never have to "work" again. I have worked as a professional makeup artist and master hair stylist around the country and globe building up my tool kit and honing on talent and love for the industry. My love for both beauty and fashion led me to go step out from behind the scenes and let the world see and hear my voice, and who would have guessed I wasn't just a guy with a makeup brush. I've held position on a Minneapolis daily talk show as the resident beauty expert, which was my first real move away from the salon chair or makeup counter. Makeup trainer, and beauty educator, creative team member, New York Fashion Week makeup artist team member, retail sales manger for luxury salons and spas. Creative Director of on-line life style magazine Haven Magazine, where I currently hold the position of editor-at-large. I am a contributing beauty editor to the very popular makeup blog Themakeupblogger....., as well as contributing beauty editor for the luxe on-line magazine fastlifeluxury...... With an extensive background in beauty and fashion as well as being a creative director for fashion and beauty editorials as well as runway coach, model scout and runway production my large array of knowledge in the industry allows me to be an expert on the topic of beauty and fashion. My approach to beauty is rather simple. Why fix what isn't broken, showcase the best attributes, and enhance the soul. From New York Fashion week, corp product development, editorial photo shoots, to being behind the chair in a salon or behind the counter at a makeup counter, I've experienced a lot. Whither I am styling hair for someone's junior prom or painting a face for a model who is about to walk down a runway, I always want the client to look but most importantly feel their best. With the the proper tools, a couple new tricks and proper education anyone should be able to look and feel as good as their stylists makes them. A natural approach to makeup can transform a person in ways they never realized. Less is more in my eyes, and beauty is skin deep. -Anthony J. Okoye
