Writer in Springfield, Oregon

I am a graduate of the University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication. I have a B.A. with honors in Jornalism and a B.A. in the Humanities with a focus on gender and sexuality. I am looking to freelance to get back into writing alongside my day job as a graphic designer. I’d like to eventually pursue journalism full-time. My key areas of interest include: mental health issues, social justice issues, science reporting, and telling important stories that no one else is telling, but I have also done sports coverage, entertainment reviews, and other various topics here and there. My interests are broad and I got into journalism because I love to write, and it’s a line of work where I can use my talents to do good, meet interesting people, be a voice for those who need one, and I can literally get paid to learn something new every day about all kinds of topics. I am also adept at academic writing, and can do some legal and technical writing if I have a thorough understanding of my topic.
